A mother, wife, philanthropist, mentor, coach, chef and owner at Jag’s Steak & Seafood in West Chester. Cincinnati-born and raised, Chef Michelle Brown has defined and built Jag’s reputation as one of the region’s premier dining and entertainment venues since 2003. Beginning her career at the Bankers Club, she fell in love with the kitchen environment and cuisine. Executive Chef, John York took her under his wing and mentored her growth as a chef and leader. The guidance acquired from Chef York, has forged on as she actively mentors kitchen and service teams working their way through culinary school.
Throughout her career, Michelle has had the distinct pleasure of being invited to cook at the James Beard House in New York City, currently serves as a brand ambassador for Certified Angus Beef, selected to represent the Cincinnati Bengals at the National Taste of NFL in 2019 & 2020 during Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta and Super Bowl LIV in Miami, in addition to her 17 years of supporting our local Freestore Foodbank Taste of NFL. Declared unanimous winner of the Cincinnati Food + Wine Classic Pork Chopped competition and received the “Woman of Excellence” award from the West Chester/Liberty Chamber of Commerce both in 2015.
Becoming majority owner in 2015, Michelle makes giving back to the community one of upmost priorities by donating talent, time, and resources to local charities. Her philanthropic mindset has led to deep-rooted partnerships with The Freestore Foodbank, The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty, and the Boys & Girls Club of West Chester/Liberty.
Michelle lives in Liberty Township with her husband and two children.
