"A next-generation steakhouse in our opinion, this restaurant aims to be comfortable and urbane rather than imposing and clubby. There are fireplaces in each of the six dining rooms, plus fire pits on the patios. Greenery, artwork and other distinctive design elements give each room an inviting air. Dishes range from Chilean sea bass to Maryland crab cakes to duck with cherry demi-glace. There also are a variety of pastas and a sushi-raw bar. However, we suggest you splurge on one of the Prime steak specialties, particularly the signature porterhouse, the flavorful bone-in filet or the tender Japanese Kobe beef."

Jag's Steak and Seafood
"Jag's Steak and Seafood is a swanky neighborhood surf-and-turf spot with a happening bar scene. The fine-dining spot features a series of small, intimate dining rooms in addition to its recently expanded piano lounge. "You get the best of both worlds here," says Kelly Lowrey, operations manager, adding that Jag's is a sole proprietorship, not a national chain. "We have live entertainment six nights per week. And the food is outstanding." Lowrey says the pan-seared Chilean sea bass with Thai chili beurre blanc (a white butter sauce), served with garlic mashed potatoes ($32.95), is a popular dish with seafood fans. The 10-oz King filet mignon ($38.95) reigns supreme with the turf crowd. Jag's also offers Kobe beef, a tender and highly marbleized cut that has Japanese origins. The menu also includes sides such as Caesar salad, wild mushroom bisque and a loaded potato, while a drink menu features beers, wines and liquors of all sorts. "We also have a great raw bar, and our desserts are wonderful," Lowrey says. "The presentation is beautiful."

"Is West Chester the new Indian Hill? Seems that way with the opening of upscale (read: expensive) restaurants like the elegant steakhouse, Jag's. "New money" suburbanites are flocking to this northern 'burb dining hotspot for a true fine-dining experience that's close to home. Elegant marble floors line an entry way leading to the smart and swanky bar, which usually draws a crowd of Manhattan sippers and cigar aficionados. White table lines and dark mahogany wood set the stage in the dining areas (there are six small rooms), where guests range from celebrating couples to large groups of business folks. All fine dining menu essentials are present here: fresh and innovative salads, sides large enough to share, fresh seafood and a variety of cuts of aged beef. The real crowd pleaser, though, is the $50 steak: an 8-ounce cut of tender Kobe beef. Gourmet ice creams, like lavender honey and Tahitian vanilla, finish off the meal." — Annie McManis (Photo: Terry Brueneman)

This luxurious West Chester restaurant offers a broad menu of meticulously-prepared fare.
Editorial Rating: Highly Recommended
"In Short. Everything is done just right: eager valets out front, six distinctive, elegant dining rooms and an impressive menu. This is how a deluxe American restaurant should be. The chef artfully prepares an assortment of sumptuous meat and fish delicacies. Famous for being the only Cincinnati restaurant to serve Kobe beef, the menu also offers a raw bar, Chilean sea bass and many types of steak. A highlight of the dessert menu is the homemade lavender-honey gelato."

My husband and I dined at Jag's restaurant because we had been given a gift certificate. And boy, were we happy that we went. It was totally awesome!!! The service/waitress was spectacular. She was always there when you needed her and the food was out of this world. It's hard to find wonderful steaks out in a restaurant anymore but you have done it!

Outstanding

I am new to the area and Jags came Highly recommended by my husbands co workers. We were not disappointed the food is the best I have had since leaving California and the wait-staff was wonderful. My husband brought me here for my birthday and they comped dessert for us to celebrate the occasion. The steak was absolutely amazing I will definitely return here in the future!!!!

Best steak in town
I was invited to Jag's by several friends and dined there on a Saturday in December. We had a party of 6 and we were seated promptly at a nice table in the corner of the room. The waiter definitely knew what what he was doing, recommendations were right on but he didn't "hover" around the table. I had a Filet Mignon, I can't recall a better steak anywhere. All the seafood was great. Nice wine list. It's my new favorite steakhouse.
